Klitschko looking for a knockout against Fury
Fury has won all 24 of his professional fights, 18 by knockout.
Tomorrow night, we could very well experience an era of dominance come to its incredible end as the world welcomes a new heavyweight champion in Tyson Fury.
Here’s how he could get it done. “But if he uses his speed and reach it will be a great chance for him to win”.
Fight fans, will you be putting any money down?
However, nobody yet has quite been so committed to the cause as this challenger.
Fury believes he is Klitschko’s “worst nightmare” and has spent the build-up in Duesseldorf trying to bury himself under the Ukrainian’s thick skin like a weevil. “I’d love to knock a few of them out”.
Fury baulked at Klitschko’s description of his ego.
There remains one giant factor in the fight that no amount of preparation by Fury and his team can predict or prepare for, and that is Klitschko’s physical condition, which is directly linked to the champion’s willingness to take risks. He is the second longest reigning World Heavyweight Champion of all-time.
The truth is that most of the other 16 world title defences in this reign have been simple, routine and mostly repetitive because of Klitschko’s talent.
“Let’s make no mistakes, he has nearly made his chin like the city of Troy with the high walls”.
He said: “Fury’s tactics should be to close the distance, get near to him, rough him up, try and bully him and stick the nut on him if he has to”.
Klitschko has heard such bold statements before from previous challengers, many of whom then became one of his 53 knockouts in 64 wins. “His own size (6’9”) and unorthodox style should ensure that. Tyson has been floored heavily during his career by right hands from smaller fighters Neven Pajkic and Steve Cunningham. If I can’t beat Wlad, it means I’m no good. “And biggest of all, I can talk”. “I’ll put him to bed in the sixth round”.
Fury’s confidence coming into the fight will serve him well, though it’s nothing Klitschko hasn’t seen before.
All week Fury’s beaming demeanour has been of a man who is in sole possession of a wondrous secret.
“And the boxing ring, the fight, is the best form of therapy”.
Fury, though, insists he is ready.
But rest assured not a single thought of defeat would have entered Fury’s head, because despite his press conference antics and constant proclamations of greatness, the man is a serious fighter, ignorant of past records and the challenge facing him. Despite his claims that he’ll take the fight to Klitschko, I expect him to box at range, possibly from the southpaw stance, looking to land the jab and then stun Waldimir with a big punch.
People line up to watch Fury fight and they will do so once more this weekend.
