Klopp’s praise for winger
Jordon Ibe got his first Liverpool goal against Rubin Kazan, much to the delight of manager Jurgen Klopp.
“Until now, I didn’t speak to all the players one on one because I don’t have time”, Klopp said.
“He has a lot to learn, but has a really good base. He has to learn and if he is prepared to listen, everything will be good”.
Liverpool’s win over Rubin Kazan moved it within one point of FC Sion for first place in Group B, and its prospect for advancing out of the group look good with two games remaining. It wasn’t easy to play in such a fantastic atmosphere in the stadium.
‘I enjoy all the games we have but I enjoy it more when we win.
Ahead of Liverpool’s Europa League clash in Russian Federation with Rubin Kazan tonight, Klopp explained that Gerrard will always be welcome at training and that, soon enough, the club is likely to make him a proposal. It’s OK. The lads fought for their lives and that was great to see.
Liverpool’s new manager understands that it can be hard for young players after the manager they have built a relationship with leaves the club to be replaced by a stranger.
Dejan Lovren, Joe Allen, Jordan Ibe and Christian Benteke replace Martin Skrtel, Lucas Leiva, Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho. “In the end, we changed a few things in the game to create more chances and I am really satisfied with how we did”. “It was a good through-ball from [Roberto] Firmino and I was just happy to get it on target and in and I’m happy for the team to win the game. It’s never going to be easy – it’s going to be a tough fixture for us because they showed what they could do at Anfield”, mused the 27-year old, reflecting on the first meeting between these two sides.
“Of course it is like this in a positive way where everyone says it’s a new chance and all the players feel more important than before”, he said.
“We played without Phil [Coutinho] who had such a brilliant game at Chelsea”.
Ibe himself was thrilled to finally get on the scoresheet in his 30th Reds appearance, and he said: “I was delighted to get my first goal”.
