Knight’s triple-double lifts Suns to 120-101 win over Lakers
Guard Eric Bledsoe continued his hot scoring streak with 21 points, all in the first three quarters, extending his career-long streak of games with 20 or more points to five. Granted, he hasn’t won in big stages or made an All-Pro team, but he has enough talent to rival any young player in the league.
Knight finished with 30 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds as he led the Suns to a 120-101 victory over the struggling Lakers.
It was quite the dominating performance.
“Those two are very explosive and Knight had an unbelievable game tonight”, Lakers coach Bryon Scott said. It was as unfair of move as any in the National Basketball Association, save the Manu Ginobili euro-step – which is borderline cheating.
The Lakers still have 71 more games to play before World Peace can really start considering his future options in coaching. You can also look at Jordan Clarkson, who has become an important player on this team mostly due to experience gained from time in the starting lineup due to injury past year.
Bledsoe was one assist shy of a triple-double against the Clippers, and Knight captured his first against the Lakers with 30 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds. “Mentally, I think we took a step back”. Look at the two lonely box scores, and you come to realize that Knight had an even better game than Russ did, with only two turnovers to Westbrook’s nine, and a higher field goal percentage to boot.
“They came on in the fourth quarter and decided they were going to take it up a notch”, Williams said. The Suns have won nine straight at home against the Lakers, one shy of the franchise record last reached from 1977-1981. “I felt we didn’t do the same thing”. “He controlled the game like a point guard should”, Bledsoe said. “I get energy off him and he gets energy off me being able to rebound and run the offense”. Williams is averaging 26.3 minutes in the sixth man spot and only has 12.6 points per contest to show for it. Who’s to say Russell couldn’t be just as impactful, if not more so, with the same amount of playing time? The Suns led by as many as 37 points in a blowout win against the Denver Nuggets Saturday, but had more trouble putting the Lakers away. Warren provides solid scoring pop off the bench while playing an average of 21.2 minutes per game, and the 30-year-old Tucker is averaging five points and 4.4 rebounds.
