Knoxville runner finishes soggy Boston Marathon
This was only her second marathon, and she finished four minutes behind Linden in 2:44:04 – the first time two Americans have finished first and second in Boston since 1979.

Chichester said her ultimate goal is to qualify for the Olympic Trails, like her brother, in the marathon event.
She now is attending physical therapy school at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri.

Even though it was a dream for Swantek to run Boston, the reality far exceeded her expectations.
Thompson said she was able to do that with the help of her strong religious faith.

For Dawn Claus of Sutton, it was the second time running Boston. “The race was the same distance (as other marathons) with just tougher weather conditions”.
She also was concerned about the weather.
“It was very emotional and I was choking up before we crossed the finish line, ” Jennifer Masur said.
“I got second at the Boston Marathon, and that is never going to un-happen”, she said. I was nervous about that.
He was on course for a sub-four-hour time before hitting the wall at about the 20-mile mark. Let’s keep a special place at the front for Linden, Sellers and Kawauchi, for reminding us that when a sports event exhibits its most joyously unpredictable side, it only adds to the fun.

Holmes said he hopes to return to campus with enough time to enjoy some of the Diadeloso festivities, and will continue to train for the 2019 Boston Marathon throughout the year.
Chantal Desgagne, who was fighting a stress fracture in her foot, and had stepped out of an orthopedic boot to compete, completed 6½ miles of the course. “It’s not something where you feel the residents are resentful of or complaining about the traffic”, he said. “So it was great to meet her, and she was just so kind and down to Earth”, Sellers said.
But she said that after the first time and she returned because the experience was unbelievable. “It’s insane, there were people everywhere warming up and everything, it’s cool to see how much other people care about running”, Holmes said. Holmes completed the race in three hours and six minutes.
