Ko catches up to lead before rain hits LPGA
Jang, who began her campaign with a seven-under-par 65, had yet to start her second round as most of the greens were flooded by the time she was set to tee-off.
Ko was 4-under par for the round and had a 15-foot birdie putt on the ninth hole at Golden Ocala when the horn sounded to stop play because of thunderstorms in the area.
The third round of the LPGA Tour’s Coates Golf Championship in Ocala in Florida has been disrupted by inclement weather and with some players yet to even begin round two, the event, which began on Wednesday, has a lot of ground to make up when play recommences at 7.30am on Friday.
The 72-hole tournament is scheduled to end Saturday.
“At least we don’t have to go back to the range”, Pressel said.
Ko started quickly on Thursday by opening with two birdies.
Japan’s Haru Nomura and Malaysia’s Kelly Tan were a further stroke back, Nomura having carded a six-under-par 66 to hold the clubhouse lead and Tan after completing three holes.
“It feels like I’m burning a hole through the golf ball with my eyes sometimes”, Thompson said. “I struggled a little bit with my driver yesterday, but today I hit all the fairways so I was super happy with that.

“On the par-five we were talking about when is the rain going to come and all that”. She had only three pars on the first 14 holes, making seven birdies and four bogeys.
In September, Pettersen infuriated the Americans by insisting that Lee be penalized for picking up her ball when she thought her short second putt had been conceded in a fourballs match. “A 68 was probably a fair reflection of how I played”.
“Alison and I are pretty good friends”, she said.
Maude-Aimee Leblanc of Sherbrooke was at 2 over and Alena Sharp of Hamilton at 5 over.
