Kobe Bryant expected to play Tuesday night against Denver
Tuesday is the penultimate game Bryant will play in the Mile High City.
Bryant, the NBA’s third all-time leading scorer, will retire at the end of the 2014/15 season. “I was like, ‘Wow, that was Kobe Bryant that did that, there.’ Just so much respect for that man”.
Missing the playoffs could leave Bryant rested and in form to become the first man in Olympic history to win three basketball gold medals, should he earn a spot on the two-time defending champion American squad. “The injuries that I’ve had, I’ve always been able to look at those in a positive light and learn from those things, and also take advantage of opportunities that come as a direct result”.
The 37-year-old shooting guard has already established himself as one of the greatest players in the National Basketball Association and will be retiring from competition after the 2015-16 season, his 20th in the league.
“I would have loved to have played overseas but it’s not going to happen”.
“But that being said we will see how it goes”. “Body won’t let me”, Bryant admitted.
Kobe Bryant, reflecting on the nature of scandal in sport, believes Federation Internationale de Football Association needs to clean its house after damaging “the emotional Shangri-La you get from sport”. Though Bryant said he would like the experience of playing overseas, he sounds resigned to the fact it won’t happen.
