Kobe Bryant has worst game of his career against Warriors
No matter how much Kobe Bryant struggles during possibly his final season in the National Basketball Association, the Los Angeles Lakers star will not be benched for poor play, Lakers coach Byron Scott told ESPN.com on Friday.
The misses have piled up as high as the Lakers’ (2-12) losses for Bryant this campaign as he entered the night shooting just 33% from the field. “I got faith in Kobe that he’ll be okay”. “It’s been tough. (But) My shooting will be better”. It wouldn’t have made a damn difference. We accomplished it, and now we have to make sure that we don’t drop off and give a game away just because we broke this record. They are now on a four-game losing skid with an average losing margin of 20.75 points. He said that they should learn to “play systematically” in order to keep them in ball games.
Kobe Bryant spoke about his shot selection and what he needs to improve, while Nick Young said the team lacks an offensive identity. But it is over. A current player in the West went a step further. “His skills have diminished”.
“I’ve always kind of been a believer in that, too”. I’m 6ft 3in. You just try to do a lot of different things on the court. If I have that will and heart to compete, I think more times than not, you’ll be successful.
Kobe Bryant is not playing like a starter, but he’ll remain one.
In addition, Complex’s Russ Bengtson sent an open letter to Bryant to call for his retirement. I don’t think the way we approach things here is for everybody. “I don’t mean at the end of the season, I mean right now”, Bengtson wrote.
“It’s not worth it anymore”, he added.
Making matters worse: The 17-time All-Star is stuck in the past, a notion which has been perpetuated by the fact that Bryant is surrounded by yes-men, starting with his head coach and former teammate Byron Scott.
“We still understand that this is a process and it’s going to take time”.
And hey, Kobe, listen it’s not your fault. In the midst of the worst season of his career, Bryant’s game-by-game performance continues to regress.
Kobe Bryant retirement is expected to take place after this season. But playing outside the offense hasn’t worked for the Lakers, as they have shot just 30.4 percent (41-of-135) on those iso attempts.
