Kobe Bryant Leads First Returns For NBA All-Star 2016 Voting
Los Angeles held serve for nearly a half.
Joining him in the Western Conference backcourt based on current voting is 2015 NBA All-Star Game MVP Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder with 267,699 with Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers a distant third with 146,335.
“It’s not something I’m absolutely pressing for but being part of the Olympic experience is a handsome thing”, Bryant said. “How much ready do you need to get?”
“They would love nothing more than to beat us by 40”. Bryant fell one point short of his fifth straight 20-point outing on Wednesday as he scored 19 in a 120-85 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Lakers may have kept Steven Adams in check but the same couldn’t be said for his Oklahoma City team-mates as the Thunder powered to another big win over Los Angeles in the National Basketball Association.
But the Lakers’ arguably most fragile asset stayed unfazed. I understand, you’re a fan and you bought your ticket which in my opinion gives you the right to boo or cheer as loud as you want. So there’s no sense in yelling at it.”BUZZER BEATERS 1″. Of course no one cares about that.
The Lakers trailed by 21 at one point.
The Thunder blew the game wide open with a 22-0 run during the start of the third quarter and never looked back to extend their record to 20-9.
Then in a flurry, only temporarily slowed by hopeless Byron Scott timeouts, the Thunder overwhelmed a disheartened Lakers defense.
Every active player got some burn tonight, with rookie Cameron Payne looking solid in limited minutes. “That’s just the honest-to-goodness truth”, he added.
Bryant flew high for an offensive rebound in the first quarter, pump-faked twice and scored on a high-arc baseline shot. Bryant actually laughed after securing the ball and drove for an eight-footer.
Bryant later said he was laughing at Durant’s athleticism and lanky, long physique.
For comparison’s sake, Durant had 21 points on seven-for-nine shooting.
Bryant has teamed with the Celebrities for Charity Foundation to raffle off two in-suite tickets for what will most likely amount to Bryant’s final game in Boston. As it’s always been for the Lakers, it’s about him, and the rest simply have to adjust.
There were a few highlights in the rematch, mostly from Bryant.
Golden State led by 10 with less than 6 minutes remaining before Curry’s second three-pointer of the game sparked a 14-5 run to help the Warriors seal the victory. In the first quarter he converted a four-point play when he was fouled on a 3-pointer and hit the free throw, drawing loud cheers. What do you think about his choices for players and teams? On the Lakers’ side, Julius Randle was set to see a foot specialist after missing Wednesday’s loss with an ankle injury, but he’s probable.
