Kobe Bryant targets Olympic gold before retirement
It was the sixth worst loss in franchise history for the Lakers, and they have a couple days to forget about this one while they head to Denver to take on the Nuggets Tuesday night, while the Thunder head to Los Angeles to play the Clippers Monday night before facing this Lakers team at Staples Center on Wednesday.
He dunked Thursday for the first time this season, an impressive slam in which he moved past Houston forward Trevor Ariza and beat power forward Clint Capela. Yes, he played against Shaq, but you have to imagine he considers him more of a teammate than anything else. “With that being said, we’ll see how everything goes”.
Scott had announced before tipoff that Bryant would sit out with a sore right shoulder. Bryant has spoken glowingly about both players recently, but when the time came to pick his top five, both players got left out in the cold.
Still, the unintentional comedic value of Bryant returning for another two years to another $48.5 million contract would be off the charts though. “Kobe would obviously like to be going out in a different way”. “That’s a type of career you want to have”.
But Bryant’s last three seasons have ended early due to injuries, and he played in only 41 games over the previous two years.
“I would love nothing more than to be in an worldwide environment and be around some of the other great athletes one more time”, Bryant told ESPN Radio.
The two teams would meet again in the 2001 Western semis (Lakers won, 4-0), 2002 Western semis (Lakers won, 4-1), 2003 Western semis (Spurs won, 4-2), 2004 Western semis (Lakers won, 4-2), 2008 Western finals (Lakers won, 4-1), and 2013 Western first round (Spurs won, 4-0).
“I definitely plan on helping the game spread and helping kids all around the world understand kind of the metaphors that come along with the game… everything that surrounds the game of basketball”.
“The guys on the court have to learn from it”, Scott said.
The 37-year-old shooting guard has already established himself as one of the greatest players ever in the National Basketball Association and will be retiring from competition after the 2015-16 season, his 20th in the league. The Thunder went 23-59 that season and 50-32 the following year. “I’ve never seen so many “24” jerseys in (road) arenas”.
“For me not to be voted in, I know it might sound hard to really process when I say I’m completely fine with that”, said Bryant, who has been voted into 17 All-Star games. The Los Angeles Lakers guard is only averaging nine points this season.
Unfortunately, the Houston-LA section begins by going through various nonsense things Reggie Miller said during the game. “I studied him, wanted to be like him”, Durant said.
