Kobe Bryant to quit basketball
Longtime Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant announced this week he’ll retire at the end of the season.
As Whiteside calls Bryant one of his “favorite hoopers”, he showcases his own dunking skills. The 37-year-old shooting guard who became one of the NBA’s most unsafe scorers made his long-anticipated announcement in a poem posted on The Players’ Tribune that begins “Dear Basketball”. I’ve been disappointed this year because you guys (media) treated him like s***.
“I was just hoping he could have a healthy season, where he could enjoy himself in a situation where, team-wise, it’s a franchise that’s rebuilding with a lot of young talent”, Gasol said.
“My heart can take the pounding“.
The Lakers star has not been having a good season, most recently scoring just 13 points – hitting on 4 of 20 shots – in Sunday’s 107-103 loss to the Indiana Pacers, his team’s sixth consecutive defeat. “Especially to the guys that played against him in this era”. “So I just want him to have as much fun as possible in his a year ago”.
Kobe Bryant announced on Sunday that he will retire at season’s end.
Bryant added with emotion and exuberance, “I was a Laker die hard growing up”. Injuries have dogged him in recent years as well, limiting him to 41 of a possible 164 games in the previous two seasons.
Lillard said he’s reached out to Bryant a few times during his four years in the league and that he’s always appreciated how available Bryant is despite his superstar status. So I understood that, and my personality fit in perfectly with his and the team at the time. “I think the impact (is) the mentality, the aggression and the work ethic”.
“The coolest thing is the blessings that I’ve received from other players”. “I understand not playing well and stuff; that’s a part of it. But you can’t treat Kobe like he’s D’Angelo Russell when it comes to his coverage”.
“I cried, man”, he said Monday.
Whether you view me as a hero or villain, please know I poured every emotion, every bit of passion and my entire self into being a Laker. “He put his mark on the game”.
In March 2006, Bryant scored 40 points in the first professional sporting event played in New Orleans in front of a sellout crowd of 17,744 just more than six months after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the city.
However, of all his great memories, Bryant’s best moment that solidified his career came on April 12, 2013 against the Golden State Warriors. You mean so much to us all.
