Kobe Bryant wants to play in 2016 Olympics
Kobe is averaging only 16.5 points per game, which, over a complete season, would be his lowest scoring average since the 1997-1998 season, and he is shooting an unthinkable 21% from three-point range.
“If I’m capable of playing, I’m going to get out there and play”, Bryant said.
Bryant Uncertain for Wednesday Immediately after their loss to Miami, the Lakers headed to the airport for their game in Orlando the very next day. “I just felt appreciative playing in such a historic building all these years”. But his method of mentoring the Lakers so far this season has been about the youngsters watching Bryant take shots (and often miss).
He played in the Lakers’ first six games of the season, but his back prevented him from facing the Heat.
Scott said he didn’t force Fisher to switch, but applauded the respect the rookie showed the veteran. Bryant said Monday that he still wants to be part of the team that USA Basketball will send to the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, a tournament that theoretically could mark the end of his competitive basketball career if he retires at the conclusion of this NBA season.
“I had trouble walking”, Bryant told reporters Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles Times. If he can’t go, you know he’s hurt.
Bryant’s 19-year stint with the Lakers has earned him five National Basketball Association titles, two Finals MVP awards, the 2008 Most Valuable Player award, and 17 National Basketball Association All-Star game appearances.
“I thought we really lost our focus”, Scott said. “A physical, gritty, tough defensive minded team and to be able to wear on them in the second half with a few real spirited passionate defensive possessions is what we’re trying to get to”.
“He just provides a lot of energy and he plays extremely hard the times that he’s out there”, Scott said.
“We settled on jump shots”, Scott said, “and I think the fact that they had a big guy down there in Whiteside, who can block shots, probably deterred us from going to the basket sometimes”.
Bosh scored a season-high 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Hassan Whiteside had 19 points and 15 rebounds in only 27 minutes of work, and the Heat pulled away in the second half to beat the Los Angeles Lakers 101-88 on Tuesday.
