Kobe “not really worried” about shooting woes
Walton, who is took the helm of the Warriors’ coaching in an interim-basis, has compared Curry to his old friend and Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant as both players seem to have the same “killer instinct” to win games.
Even though Kobe Bryant is in the midst of a career-worst season, (shooting 31.1 percent from the field and 19.5 percent from 3-point range) the 17-time All-Star will not be benched this season.
Head coach Byron Scott also pointed out that the team needs to do a better job of creating better shot opportunities for one another. “I don’t think it’s a matter of him being exhausted or his legs being exhausted, I think it’s a matter of his timing just being a little off”.
“It’s too early in the season”, said Scott, who doesn’t believe Bryant is worn out. Scott said he didn’t play Russell in the fourth quarter because it was a blowout and there was nothing to be learned for him in this game. “For us to have to double that output, I mean we’re going to play hard and hopefully close in on that record, but it won’t be a disappointing effort if we don’t get there”, Curry added. “I am concerned about his shooting percentage and shots so far, but so far as knowing him the way I’ve known him and how long he’s played in this league, I’m not anxious about him finding it”. “Like I’ve been saying, everybody’s a great one-on-one player, but we’ve got to work on team ball”.
“Absolutely”, Scott told ESPN.com.
“Even the great Kobe Bryant can’t be great at age 37 with all of these obstacles joined, colluding with one another to bring him down”, Smith said.
“Yeah, I’ve seen him play and it’s disgusting, “the guard told Bresnahan”.
Yet despite all this gloom and doom, the Lakers star insists he’s “not really worried” about his struggles on the court.
“You can’t have so much bravado and enjoy the good times and then have times like this and kind of cower away from it”, Bryant said about the Lakers’ continuous losses.
“In all honesty, it was tough, the shots that I take, pullup shots and jumpers and contested jumpers – those are tough shots to hit at 27”, Bryant said Tuesday.
