Konkona, Tillotama and Gulshan attend premiere of short-film ‘Nayantara’s
Starring National-award winning actress Konkona Sen Sharma and Tilotama Shome, the story is a great insight into the middle-class married life.
Konkana says “The part which she played in this film is different from what i am in my real life, i was quite out of my comfort zone”. Nayantara, essayed by Konkona Sen Sharma, spends hours perfecting her makeup, drives around Mumbai with a pretty Japanese hand fan, and gives unsolicited advise.
Besides Sujoy Ghosh’s “Ahalya, ‘ the Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films” platform has also showcased shorts made by Anurag Kashyap and Sudhir Mishra in the past, which had actors, such as Radhika Apte and Chitrangadha Singh respectively. Konkana was initially interested to do other role as she thought that role will suit her most, but the director Jaydeep Sarkar suggested her to do the same part which is allocated to her. She’s a wannabe kind of character, she dresses in a very particular way and talks in a particular way, and says “Chill babes” and all which is not at all me.
About her experience of working with her co-star, Konkona said: “Tilotama and I are already great friends, neighbours and we meet a lot”. Alka is charmed by her friend and wants her life whereas Nayantara is searching for her own identity. Makers of the viral film are back with another powerful script. Nayantara’s Necklace will “shake you, jolt you and leave you”, as they claim. “Like this there are many interesting things to watch”. “I’m waiting for him to make a feature-length film”.
Talking about his film, director Jaydeep Sarkar said, ” “Nayantara’s Necklace” is not just about Alka and Nayantara’s friendship.
