Korean leader visits seafood restaurant ahead of historic summit
While President Donald Trump and other USA officials have said they are prepared to walk away from the summit, Pompeo still held out the possibility that some sort of written statement or communique that lays out tangible achievements from the June 12 meeting could emerge. Among the celebrities who have said they will be in the city during the summit are former basketball star Dennis Rodman, one of the few people who have met both Kim and Trump, and Fox News host Sean Hannity.
Kim said that it is obvious to North Koreans that the government of Kim Jong Un is lying to the people about the country’s situation and its reality. “Both the American as well as the North Koreans are pleased with the arrangements, we’re all set to go and things will start happening within the next 24 hours”, he said. “I don’t want to waste his time”. North Korea “has numerous facilities involved in the development, production, and testing of nuclear weapons and missiles, some of them located at the known nuclear complex at Yongbyon, but many located at undeclared sites elsewhere in the DPRK”.
Trump frequently has boasted of his negotiating prowess as a real estate developer, and his ability to read people, even though his businesses have declared multiple bankruptcies.
In his press conference Saturday, Trump compared what he described as a lack of action on the part of past US leaders on North Korea with the “bad” trade deals they made with key allies, including Canada and France.
He said: “No, it’ll never happen, no”.
“South Korea, China and Russian Federation may decide to lift their own sanctions but the regime would still be left in a tough situation, thanks to United Nations sanctions and independent sanctions by the USA and Japan”, Kotani said.
The president’s remarks come two days after he said he “doesn’t need to prepare very much” for the meeting which the USA hopes will lead toward an agreement for North Korea to end its nuclear program.
He had spent the days heading into the G7 summit publicly blasting French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over trade, and questioned why Russian Federation would not be present at the meeting.
Congress could either help give the negotiated agreement more heft by ratifying it, or completely undermine the deal for either political or substantive reasons, Town said. So, the president, I can imagine him saying, ‘We’ve agreed on this peace treaty, ‘ which is what we said in 2005.
“Based on Justin’s false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!”
Yet there has been nothing but crickets from the North on the stunning visit to the White House on June 1 by Kim’s personal envoy, Kim Yong Chol.

“I feel they were trying to intimidate me, but if I got deported it would have been big news”.
Getting a legally binding peace treaty is unlikely in Singapore because “you have to disentangle a lot of United Nations security issues, Security Council issues”, said Christopher Hill, a former lead US nuclear negotiator with the North, who also noted that “as a practical matter, China has to be there”.
