Kristin Cavallari’s brother found dead

In a statement they said: “At approximately 10:30 a.m. search crews located remains believed to be that of Michael Cavallari”.

Crews had been searching for the San Clemente resident since his 2014 Honda Civic was found abandoned on November 27, about 100 feet from a road.

According to a press release issued by the Sheriff’s Office earlier this week, a Honda Civic, registered to Michael, was found five miles south of exit 175 in Grand County on November 27, 700 miles from his home in Southern California. Yesterday, Kristin Cavallari confirmed via a statement to PEOPLE that authorities had located her older brother’s body.

The body was taken to the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office to make positive identification and determine a cause of death.

The search, which involved dogs and search drones, ended when Cavallari is found dead when his body was discovered about three miles from his abandoned auto laying in an area of rough terrain.

Authorities have not disclosed details about the circumstances surrouding Michael Cavallari’s death.

Investigators believed he was just passing through Utah but didn’t know where he was headed. “I love u so much RIP”. Four days before his vehicle was found, he was arrested outside a woman’s apartment Orange County. He bailed out of jail two days before a rancher discovered his auto.

Kristin Cavallari is married to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and she formerly starred on the MTV reality shows “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills”.

His actress sister posted a photo on her Instagram account Thursday, along with a poignant note.
