Kubiak: Manning had ‘really good’ workout Saturday
“A coach once told me, no offense to anybody, close your ears and focus on your job…” I’m not having to win football games by myself.
Brock Osweiler was already named the starter as Peyton Manning will not be active again this week. If you’re going to be a good player in this league, you have to be able to block out noise and play.
Osweiler will make his sixth consecutive start Monday night when the Broncos (10-4) host the Bengals (11-3). On their first second-half possession, Osweiler capped it by hooking up with Emmanuel Sanders for a six-yard score. The temperature Monday night is expected to descend through the 20s. Looking to kick-start the offense, Kubiak spread out the formation, put three wide receivers in the game much of the time and put the game in Osweiler’s hands. Though the 39-year-old quarterback will never be fully healthy this season, he has gone through four straight throwing sessions without a setback. “He worked really hard this morning – well, he worked every morning, but he worked really had this morning conditioning-wise and throwing wise”, said Kubiak, who watched Manning’s Saturday work in person. Kubiak said. “It’s just, ‘Let’s go, let’s have a good week, let’s work.’ That’s what he did”.
Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning wasn’t on the field Saturday during the early media viewing period of the team’s practice as he continues to rehab from a partially torn plantar fascia in his left foot, the Denver Post reported. Manning is Manning, a Mount Rushmore-type player who has earned piles of respect in a Hall of Fame career. “Which means that Al Jazeera or Charlie Sly, whoever he wants to sue, knew that what they were saying was false or had what the courts call reckless regard, they just didn’t care about whether it was true or false”, said Catlin, who specializes in defamation cases.
