Kurt Cobain’s Biopic Coming Next Year, Says Courtney Love
In an interview this week with The Philippine Daily Inquirer Courtney Love revealed in coming year they are planning to start the production on a Kurt Cobain biopic. She added that she’ll be “involved” with the casting as well as production processes.
She will be accompanied by Kurt’s daughter, Frances Bean. Other people who will join them include former Nirvana band mates. But she essentially said that she will not have influence about selecting actor in lead role. It has been 16 years for this incident. The front man of band Nirvana Kurt Cobain was found dead on April 5, 1994. There have been many attempts to narrate his life which was very short in form of movie. Director of “Milk” Gus Van Sant’s attempt was the closest to the real in which lead role was done by Michael Pitt in the year 2005′s. The name of the effort was “Last Days”. Many documentaries were also shot about the tragic death of Kurt Cobain.
Love said about selection of lead role, “I don’t want to be the person who makes that decision.” It was little surprising! She will be giving this responsibility to the agents. By this she can escape from anyone to take her undue advantage.
According to NME Love has disclosed her plans to accelerate to make a documentary or stage play on Cobain’s life story. She has been talking about Cobain’s biopic from 2007, that time she has said that the project is in very early stage i.e. in her words in ‘embryonic stage.’
In 2010, there was big news about filmmaker Oren Moverman writing and planning to direct Cobain’s biopic. In this so called project Love was rumored to be the executive producer. However in the latest interview Love did not mention about any possible collaboration with Moverman.
