Kyle Lafferty considers Norwich future ahead of Euro 2016
The striker’s seven goals were a huge factor in the Irish qualifying for their first major tournament since 1986, but he has struggled to get a look-in this season at club level. “We’ve enjoyed against Portugal and Ronaldo, in like manner make use of the against Argentina and of course the time to make use of the against Messi, could possibly be unbelievable”.
Nearly managing to keep a straight face, he says he’d also love to face Brazil and Barcelona star Neymar.
‘Or even Brazil. Neymar could well be very good to run smack into.
“It’s been a long, long journey for me in my career”, he said.
The jokes did not stop there, either, with Lafferty then dropping to the floor, rolling up to the reporter, pointing at his shows and shouting ‘what are those???’.
Despite his antics Lafferty does have serious matters to address ahead of the tournament.
“It is frustrating. I am doing the right things, heading in the right direction, but you can only do so much”, added the former Rangers striker.
‘If you’re not getting a chance and you’re doing the maximum, then you have to ask yourself a question.
“There is no point sitting in the stands or playing for 15 minutes when there is a massive tournament coming”.
I think everyone on this island woke up on Friday with a smile on their face. “Cameron Jerome is doing a fantastic job, but I can too”.
He said: “Shane has come on against Poland in March and proved his worth with a late equaliser, and I think at this minute the role suits him”.
