Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he was close to landing Kylian Mbappe a year ago.
“It’s been put on standby, but I’ll have to get back on the case”, said Mbappe, whose mother drove him to training at Monaco.
“I think we played well this evening”.
Initially signing on loan until the end of the season, the €180m (£165m) transfer fee from Monaco makes him the world’s most expensive teenager, and the second-most expensive player ever after his Brazilian teammate.
