Kylo Ren Featured On New Star Wars: The Force Awakens Motion Poster
Regardless of who takes on the role of Han Solo in the future, fans will get to see Harrison Ford return to it next week for the first time in decades, when Star Wars: The Force Awakens is released.
Even Uncle George admitted to the News in January that there would be no way he could consult on this film without casting a Death Star-sized shadow. Experts predict that products tied to the film could bring in up to $5 billion in revenue for Walt Disney Company, which paid $4 billion for Lucasfilm in 2012. Abrams, the highly-anticipated movie stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow. Most probably for other outfits, they would have stopped their marketing campaign and just sat back, relaxed, and waited for the opening day. “I am so excited about the movie that I can put up with just about anything for a week or so”, said Scott Allen, 51, a software technician in Los Angeles.
Which means, of course, that for its purchase to pay off, Disney will need “The Force Awakens”, and, more importantly, the mass “Star Wars” merchandising industry it will restart, to be as successful as predicted.
Canadian Jesse Brown, who has been living in L.A. for 14 years, chats with a fellow Star Wars fan outside Hollywood’s Chinese Theater. He answered by revealing that, much to the dismay of Star Wars fans, he will apparently have nothing to do with the project.
“I think that the fans are coming out of the woodwork”, he said.
But at its heart, “The Force Awakens” is a passing of the torch.
“Let’s make a deal – don’t tell your friends what you’ve seen here today”.
“It’s also for the new generation who haven’t had that history and experience”.
