Kyrgios Beats Murray In Hopman Cup
James Connelly is supporting Fed Cup captain, Judy Murray, who is Watson’s interim coach for her upcoming schedule in Australia. Hewitt won the match 7-5, 6-5.
Murray battled a mystery right leg injury for most of the match and Kyrgios took full advantage.
Kyrgios used his big serve to good effect as he recorded his first win in five matches against world No 2 Murray, showing the rewards of an intensive training camp ahead of the new season to clinch a 6-4 7-6 (7-5) victory.

“I actually was a little bit nervous going out there”.
“I think on the replay it’s quite clear it didn’t slip from her hand”.
“I think it was quite clear that she threw her racket and it hit a ball kid, which should be straight disqualified”, Broady said later.
That ensured the match would be decided by the mixed doubles contest between the four.
Kyrgios said he would take plenty of confidence away from the result.
Hewitt is famously ending his decorated 20-year career at Melbourne Park this month and Kyrgios says it would be a “very, very bad thing” if he was to draw his veteran compatriot.
“One hundred per cent he wanted to win that tonight”. “But I haven’t really been thinking too much about it”.
“He’s just a great player and today I knew what my game plan was going to be and how he was going to play”.
But he became engaged in a quick exchange of words with a member of the crowd while scores were locked up at 4-4 in the second set.
