Kyrie Irving Reportedly “Pissed Off” Cavs Won’t Let Him Play
Irving is itching to get back, and this video shows how hard he has worked to put himself in position to make it happen.
And yet Cavs head coach David Blatt announced that the star point guard would still miss at least the team’s next game against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night – and Haynes thinks that he might miss Thursday’s contest against the Oklahoma City Thunder, as well.
Cleveland has gone 16-7 without Irving and with several other players missing time with injuries, including Iman Shumpert. Shumpert had only just returned the previous game from his absence due to a wrist injury.
Irving was cleared for contact last week and according to Dave McMenamin at ESPN, Irving will go through “a series of physical tests to test his readiness to play” before the Thunder game on Thursday.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are one step away from Kyrie Irving joining the active roster and logging his first minutes of the 2015-16 National Basketball Association season. However, Shumpert did receive treatment for the injury following Tuesday’s game, and if his body ended up responding poorly overnight, it’s possible that team doctors could end up ordering a follow-up examination. In particular, Kevin Love has become more involved offensively than he was all of previous year.
The Cavaliers have been the best team in the east this season and they have done it without Irving and now they will get their starting point guard back in the lineup.
