Lacy, Adams probable, but safety Burnett out for Packers
Lacy and Adams both suffered ankle injuries in last Sunday night’s win over Seattle. He’ll miss his second game in three weeks because of a calf injury. “Eddie and Davante are both progressing”, McCarthy said. Without him, the defense gave up almost 200 yards rushing to the Bears. Burnett was out in Week 1 before playing in Week 2. “Just the communication, the productivity, so he definitely makes a difference when he’s on the field”. He’s an excellent communicator, a heck of a football player, is involved in your matchup plans, things like that.
The good news for the Packers is they got effective contributions down the stretch from rookie Ty Montgomery, who would step up Monday night for Adams.
No matter how Lacy feels come Monday, James Starks proved to be more than a capable workhorse in his place.
Lacy said after practice Friday that he did more than he was supposed to do and that his ankle was “cool”. “Monday night game, so we have a lot of time left”. Hopefully his ankle continues to get better and the pressure goes away. Right tackle Bryan Bulaga is out for this game, but McCarthy thinks he will be back soon.
“From my conversation with him (Friday), he’s very positive”.
Despite the fact that Lacy still could miss the game, this news on Adams is huge for the Packers.
The sixth-year back takes it upon himself to be ready at all times, but he didn’t consider his performance particularly praiseworthy. “So we definitely feel good about where he is and his potential timeline”.
The Packers don’t practice on Saturday, but players are at Lambeau Field for meetings and medical treatment, so it’s possible he will be able to return for Sunday’s short workout.
