Lady Gaga Is Red, White And Blue At The Super Bowl
Watch Lady Gaga’s stunning performance of the U.S. National Anthem below… If Gaga had dropped the mic after her gorgeous performance, she would have been completely justified!
Lady Gaga found performing The Star-Spangled Banner anthem at the Superbowl “the highest honour”.
When you think of the Super Bowl, you’d probably think that it would be the halftime show that would steal the limelight (you know, after the whole football thing…) – but Lady Gaga has caused a stir this year with her INCREDIBLE rendition of the American national anthem.
The crowd raised to their feet and created a symphony of cheers, whoops, applause, and even the occasional, “YASSS GAGA”, both during and after the performance, to show Gaga the appreciation she deserves.
“I’ve always wanted to sing the National Anthem at a major sporting event since I was a little girl”, Gaga told the NFL Network. Her dazzling bell-bottoms pants combined with a contrasting pair of blue glitter and red-and-white striped platform heels with brass cat head and spike details were quite fabulous. It should be noted that the singer has won a golden globe, and she has been nominated for the Academy Awards.
The recent Emmy-winner posted a Snapchat video of her dancing to the phenomenal half-time show via Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars.
Gaga was joined by hearing-impaired Oscar victor Marlee Matlin, who performed the song in American Sign Language, and the 50-year-old actress is elated to have taken part, writing on her Twitter account: “She is spectacular”.
Last year, “The Star Spangled Banner” was performed by Idina Menzel, while previous singers include Renee Fleming, Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks and Carrie Underwood. Make no mistake: That was her voice in a prerecorded version that was, no doubt, flawless and impeccable.
Gaga’s singing peers were also dazzled by the act.
