Following her acclaimed performance, Gaga spoke about her mindset going into the National Anthem.
Lady Gaga was not wearing one of the outlandish outfits that she is famous for, but she did wear a custom red Gucci suit, had long blue fingernails with bright red eye shadow.
According to Sky News, the singer’s rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, sent the Internet into overdrive.
Gaga, the star of the TV series “American Horry Story” was not the only celebrity to take to the stage during the Super Bowl 50, Coldplay was already partnered to perform with Beyonce at halftime, and Bruno Mars confirmed to also perform during the event. It should be noted that the singer has won a golden globe, and she has been nominated for the Academy Awards.
Lady Gaga brought her own personal style to the National Anthem, while also keeping things very traditional.
Known as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta from birth, Lady Gaga first made waves in the music scene in 2009 with her hit single “Just Dance”.
Snapping a string of selfies and videos for social media, the sunglass-clad star looked like she was having a blast as she got in the Super Bowl spirit.
She posted on her account: “Love you so much, @ladygaga”. When asked about whether there was any memorable iconic performance of the national anthem that comes to her mind, she quickly said Whitney Houston’s version. Gaga thinks singing the national anthem was “one of the highest honours of my career”.
Gaga was joined by hearing-impaired Oscar victor Marlee Matlin, who performed the song in American Sign Language, and the 50-year-old actress is elated to have taken part, writing on her Twitter account: “She is spectacular”.
