Lady Gaga’s national anthem dream comes true
The Grammy-winning singer and American Horror Story: Hotel star kept it simple with a traditional arrangement of “The Star-Spangled Banner”, drawing loud applause from the crowd. This year, that coveted role will be filled by none other than Lady Gaga, as the National Football League announced Wednesday.
If you’ll forgive our mixing of sports metaphors, we think she hit a home run.
One of the most popular prop bets of the Super Bowl is the over/under on how long the National Anthem will take to perform.
In a patriotic sparkly red suit and matching red eyeshadow, the blonde beauty gave it her all as she moved some of the teamplayers to to tears. With that said, she’s undeniably a great singer, and her rendition of the national anthem was a great prelude to Super Bowl 50.
Following the Super Bowl, Gaga will head to Los Angeles to pay tribute to David Bowie at the Grammys on February 15.
“This is one of the highest honours of my career”, she says in a video interview shared by the NFL Network.
She insisted: I am here to root for everybody. “I think it marks what being an American is all about-working hard and the ultimate payoff for the champion is hard work”.
The 2016 Super Bowl 50 is slated to tip off at 6:30 P.M. Eastern Time and will be exclusively televised by CBS on national television.
