Lady Gaga stuns with National Anthem performance at the Super Bowl
Gaga, 29, nailed the “Star-Spangled Banner” prior to kickoff at Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, February 7.
According to Google Trends data released Monday, musical guests held their own with star quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Cam Newton as game-watchers took to the Internet. Between her album debut and her Super Bowl performance, Mariah Carey had a slew of No. 1 hits.
“Lady Gaga was wonderful”.
LADY GAGA has emerged as the front-runner to headline next year’s Super Bowl half-time show in a new online poll.
For the first half, Manning and Newton battled for the most-searched name.
Regardless of that certainty, Metallica’s frontman doesn’t seem to mind that the band will never play the Super Bowl’s halftime show. Her version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” is now right up there with Whitney Houston’s, in my mind.
She belted out the tune in the middle of the playing field at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California while standing onstage alongside a piano played by a lone pianist. But Gaga chose to tone down her dramatic stage performance for a raw performance that will serve as a highlight of her impressive career.
Her song choice was a gutsy move: Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin said last week they wouldn’t perform the band’s collaboration with Beyonce, Hymn For the Weekend, because it was too new.
Khloe Kardashian, Gigi Hadid and Ellen DeGeneres were among the stars wowed by Lady Gaga’s performance at the Super Bowl.
In a patriotic sparkly red suit and matching red eyeshadow, the blonde beauty gave it her all as she moved some of the teamplayers to to tears.
She also revealed how she prepared to sing what is traditionally a hard song. “I thought that she really took the bull by the horns and did a great job”. Following her acclaimed performance, Gaga spoke about her mindset going into the National Anthem.
