Lady Gaga to sing national anthem at Super Bowl
Although it won’t bring her any closer to that EGOT, Lady Gaga has nevertheless deigned to sing the national anthem at Super Bowl 50 this weekend, according to Variety.
Gaga will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, where the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos will vie for the championship title.
Super Bowl 50 will air on CBS, and halftime show performers include Coldplay and Beyonce.
The Grammy winner’s performance will be televised live before the game, and is generally one of the most talked about moments of the whole game.
The news of Gaga’s appearance comes hours after Grammy Awards organisers announced the Poker Face star will be performing a tribute to the late David Bowie during their ceremony on February 15.
Straight off her Golden Globes win, Lady Gaga will be singing the national anthem at the upcoming Super Bowl.
Also, Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin perform in the national anthem in American Sign Language.
This year s Grammys, the biggest night in the US-based music industry, will also feature performances by superstar British ballad singer Adele as well as award nominees including rapper Kendrick Lamar, who is in the running in the most categories at 11.
