Laga Gaga Joins Super Bowl 50 Extravaganza, Will Sing National Anthem
It was announced Tuesday that Gaga will sing the national anthem at Sunday’s Super Bowl, TV’s most-watched event.
The performance will be televised live on CBS, which has rights to broadcast the game, prior to kick-off.
It’s the 50th Super Bowl and it could be one of the most star-studded because Gaga won’t be the only famous face entertaining the crowd and millions watching at home.
Last year Idina Menzel performed the National Anthem.
Alicia Keys sang the longest national anthem of the last 10 years with her two-minute, 35-second rendition ahead of Super Bowl XLVII.
Lady Gaga will be joined on stage by Marlee Matlin, the Academy Award-winning actress who will perform the anthem in sign language.
Bruno Mars, who headlined back in 2014, has also been rumoured to make a cameo during Coldplay’s performance.
Lady Gaga’s “little monsters” took to social media to express their excitement. She’s won six Grammy Awards, including her 2014 album collaboration with Tony Bennett, the legendary jazz musician. Her song “Til It Happens to You”, which was attached to the film, “The Hunting Ground“, has been nominated for an Academy Award.
And now the singer’s 2016 is off to an impressive start as well.
Gaga, 29, won a Golden Globe in January for her supporting role in “American Horror Story: Hotel”.
