Lake Effect Snow Warning
The National Weather Service has issued another weather advisory.
Monday: Snow showers. High near 23.
“It’s probably a little two early to tell” how much accumulation the region can expect – or where, according to Shawn Smith, a weather service meteorologist – but it’s likely almost all of Buffalo Niagara can expect to see some squalls at some point – including the Northtowns.
The warning covers jefferson, Lewis and Oswego counties.
More snow is expected to fall Monday afternoon and will continue through the evening. The temperature will top out at 47 by noon before falling the remainder of the day to an overnight low around 18.
The snow will be accompanied by west winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts up to 35 miles per hour, creating visibilities as low as a half-mile at times.
“There remains some uncertainty with respect to the exact placement and intensity of lake effect snow”, the Weather Service said.
The lake effect snow warning firms up what forecasters were talking about all last week – we’re in for some weather over the next few days.
Tuesday offers snow showers with a high near 30 and a low around 16. Tuesday’s high will be near 32, but the extended forecast shows daily highs of less than 30 degrees.
