Lakers acquire Isaiah Thomas from Cavs

Nance Jr., son of Cleveland Cavaliers legend Larry Nance, is averaging 8.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks in 22.0 minutes per game.

The deals finalize Cleveland’s trade of Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics this summer.

As ESPN’s Brian Windhorst points out, Cleveland can no longer use the Brooklyn Nets’ 2018 first-round pick in a trade. Thomas’ agent Aaron Goodwin told Cleveland.com that James’ was running the offense with Cleveland. The Cavs get Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance in return. Taking on that kind of money and ponying up a pick seems less likely, despite how well Carroll has played this season. He’s also shooting a solid 46 percent from the field.
