Lakers’ Larry Nance Jr. listed as day-to-day with sprained right wrist
LAS VEGAS (AP) – The Los Angeles Lakers say forward Larry Nance Jr. has a “probable fracture” is in right hand.
Nance took a hard fall in the final minute of the Lakers’ 88-80 loss to Cleveland on Thursday night.
Nance will return to Los Angeles to be examined by a hand specialist Friday, when an update on his condition, along with an estimate for how long he’ll be sidelined, will be issued, the Lakers’ statement continued.
As Nance went driving into the lane, he committed a charge and came crashing down on a Cleveland Cavaliers player.
Nance stayed on the court wallowing in pain before he was taken to the locker room.
The Lakers’ summer run will be over on Friday as they play a consolation game against the Utah Jazz. Along with there being no fracture, Nance also didn’t suffer any ligament damage in his wrist, the Lakers said.
Nance, the 27th pick in 2015 out of Wyoming, is expected to be a key member of the Lakers’ rotation this upcoming season after a promising rookie campaign.
Nonetheless, the Lakers’ second-year forward had already shown growth in summer league with his dependable energy plays, averaging 9 points on 48.1 percent shooting and 7.8 rebounds. Nance’s run in Vegas this year saw some fun stats, even for summer league.
