Lalu Yadav, Rabri Yadav’s properties raided by CBI, case filed. Here’s why

In the PE it was found that the land was sold by the Kochhars to Delight and the payment for the same was arranged “surreptitiously” by the company in the form of investment of Delight through Ahluwali contractors and its promoter Bikramjeet Singh Ahluwalia.

He, however, claimed the contracts for maintenance of the hotels were awarded on the basis of “open bidding” and no irregularities took place.

RJD sources said the party had taken recourse to a “wait and watch” policy to see the CM’s reaction to the BJP’s demand for the sacking of Lalu’s two sons from the council of ministers. Modi had alleged that the beneficiary had transferred precious plots at Patna – where a big mall has been coming up- via RJD MP Prem Chand Gupta. “The allegation being made against me of taking land against the leases is totally baseless”, said Prasad.

“When I was told that some 25 officials of CBI had reached my house, I asked my family to cooperate with them and explained that the officials are simply following the orders of Narendra Modi”, Lalu Prasad said. We will eradicate the saffron party as they are trying to interfere in our alliance.

Lalu informed the media that IRCTC had put open tenders for the development of some hotels and it was an absolute sale. “Union Minister Uma Bharti has been charged with criminal conspiracy in Babri Masjid demolition case”. The grand alliance is comfortably perched with 178 MLAs which include 80 MLAs of the RJD, 71 of JD (U) and 27 of the Congress. “No wrong was done in the tendering, this is a BJP conspiracy. The alliance in Bihar is strong and we are united”, he said. “We will fight legally and politically”, Jha said.

The market value of the total attached property is worth Rs. 175 crore, whereas the book value of the attached property is Rs. 9.32 crore.

Earlier in June, India’s Income Tax department charged Lalu Yadav’s family, including his wife, son and daughters for holding benami assets and for tax evasion.

Lalu Prasad Yadav is already a convict in a fodder scam, and is presently out on bail.

In 2015, he became a first-time MLA from Raghopur in Vaishali district.
