Lamar Odom continues to make ‘great progess’ during hospitalization

It’s been a miraculous week for former National Basketball Association star Lamar Odom, who spent four days in a coma before awakening Friday and then communicating with his loved ones.

Kim Kardashian delivered a moving message to her brother-in-law Lamar Odom after he actually smiled at her in the hospital. “Thank you all for your prayers”, Kardashian posted on Instagram. “He’s probably never known just how much he’s truly loved and by so many people”, an insider told HollywoodLife.com exclusively.

People magazine reports Kardashian was given the task of making medical decisions about Odom’s treatment, but was “overwhelmed” by the responsibility. Entertainment Tonight also reported that Odom was strong enough to ask to see his children. The doctors are keeping him on dialysis due to kidney failure and doctors won’t know the extent of the possible brain damage he suffered until he’s fully awake.

“I have been praying all morning for my good friend and Laker great, Lamar Odom, that God will bless him to pull through”, Johnson tweeted Wednesday. He had reportedly come out of his coma when legal wife Khloe Kardashian said “I Love You”, according to college coach Jim Harrick.

Odom “got a tiny bit better – emphasis on tiny – and he was responsive in the middle of the night for a moment”, the source said. “She sleeps on a pullout bed next to Lamar”.

Dennis Hof, the owner of the brothel where Odom was discovered, appeared on Wendy Williams‘ talk show via Skype on Thursday and revealed that the former National Basketball Association star dropped $75,000 for his stay.

Neither the Kardashians nor Odom’s representatives have given any official updates on the athlete’s condition since he collapsed on Tuesday at a brothel in Nevada, where authorities said he had used cocaine and so-called herbal Viagra.
