Lance Dunbar Injury: Updates on Cowboys RB’s Knee and Return
The Saints won that game in overtime, and recent losses with the Dallas Cowboys in the form of Tony Romo and now Lance Dunbar have made it clear that a few new and possibly drastic moves are required from Dallas this year.
While the Cowboys have confirmed running back Lance Dunbar is out for the season with a knee injury, the team has yet to place him on injured reserve.
The Cowboys finally found a useful role for Dunbar early on this season in the running and passing game, as well as the primary kickoff returner. He had 10 catches for 100 yards against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3 and had three carries for 54 yards rushing to lead the team.
Per the report, Dunbar – who is a candidate for IR – also suffered a partially torn MCL during Sunday’s game against the Saints. The first time was back in November of 2013.
The past couple of weeks have been rough for the Dallas Cowboys, and it is likely only going to get worse.
While Garrett said the Cowboys are always looking to upgrade the roster, the Cowboys will look to Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden and Christine Michael to make up for Dunbar’s absence. Do they go out and acquire another skill position player?
Bryant’s recovery from foot surgery appears to be ahead of schedule and he could be back after the Cowboys’ Week 6 bye.
Butler, on a lighter note, was just acquired via trade with the Oakland Raiders before the smoke had cleared due to Bryant’s unfortunate diagnosis.
“I don’t think so because it always feels good when you beat up on the Dallas Cowboys, I don’t care who’s wearing the uniforms”, ESPN analyst Tedy Bruschi said on WEEI’s “Dale & Holley” on Monday”.
