Wilson took command of the Seahawks offense despite not having Marshawn Lynch for the majority of the season, leading Seattle to a 10-6 record and fourth straight playoff appearance.
Wilson is the only one at the Pro Bowl. Today’s big game has a scheduled start time of 7 p.m. ET and takes place from Aloha Stadium.
But the quarterback who led the Seahawks to the Super Bowl the past two seasons, winning once and coming up short against New England a year ago, admitted to a TV interviewer in the second half that “obviously it sucks to not be in the Super Bowl”. Brady withdrew, too, after being knocked around by the Denver Broncos in the AFC title game last week. Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers declined to come as an alternate, and Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints is thought to have done the same.
