Late-night natural disaster rattles Pakistani capital, Afghanistan
A magnitude-7.5 quake hit northern Afghanistan and Pakistan on October 26, destroying thousands of houses and killing more than 300 people.
Met Department officials said that the tremors may have been felt across North India but reports are still awaited.
A 6.2-magnitude natural disaster struck northeast Afghanistan around midnight near the country’s borders with Pakistan and Tajikistan, according to the US Geological Survey. People were seen coming out of the building in the region.
A strong natural disaster measuring 6.9 richter scale jolted Asian and Gulf region especially Pakistani on Friday night.
US Geological survey said the quake, initially reported as magnitude 6.4, was centered 82km southeast of the town of Feyzabad in the mountainous border area. The Delhi Police has given the clean chit after the tremors felt in the capital a while back.
Potential damage was not immediately clear.
Soon after the quake, the social media started getting flooded with posts about the natural disaster.
