Latest leaks cover everything there is to know about the Galaxy S8
In terms of connectivity, Galaxy S8 may support 4G-LTE, Single/Dual-SIM (based on region of sale), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, heart rate sensor, Type C USB 2.0, Global Positioning System and NFC.
Due to the improvements Apple is reportedly going to make to this years iPhone, Kuo recommends focusing on the sales and supply chain momentum of the OLED iPhone. It was working with Synaptics but looks like they didn’t have enough time to finish the technology.
The second leak comes from generally reliable specialist blog Sammobile, which says it’s obtained an image of a battery designed for the Samsung Galaxy S8+.
It’s now only a couple of weeks before the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 but the rumours and leaks are still coming out. Top of the list is the display in the unit, and in accordance with the previous images, it seems that we can expect a rather large screen.
While we’ve already seen Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A series phones show up in shops this year, all eyes will be drawn to the Galaxy S8 come the end of March.
Samsung chose to go with Synaptics but the latter failed to finish in time.
This giant display, dubbed FullVision, has been made possible by both slimming down the phone’s framing, hosting the fingerprint scanner on the rear and moving to a new, longer, 18:9 aspect ratio. This is the replacement for the lagging iris scanning technology, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
It is believed that the Galaxy S8 may feature 6GB of memory, although other reports suggest that Samsung will only include 4GB.
“It is still extremely hard to develop transparent sensors and components to be used for an all-screen smartphone”, an official at a local display company said.
A report originating from Korea mentions that the reason for such a change of plans was that Samsung and Synaptics ran out of time. But that market momentum might not be enough to combat Apple’s juggernaut, the iPhone. This feature gives an edge to the S8 compared to Apple smartphones, which do not support expandable storages. Instead, Samsung chose to place the sensor on the back side, next to the camera.
Apple’s shares actually have been very visible. They’re all but saying, how could a USA company be smarter than us? Samsung’s latest smartphone device is also said to add another layer of security with its facial recognition feature. I was a late “Plus” iPhone switcher, only tempted to move from the 4.7-inch form-factor to the bigger, 5.5-inch handset because of the dual-lens camera. All three new iPhones are expected to feature redesigned glass casing, wireless charging compatibility, and upgraded hardware.
