Laurie Hernandez Crowned Winner ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 23
Their Season 23 finale dance was filled with flips and tricks that elicited quite the response from the “DWTS” judges.

The episode featured everything from dances from past contestants, flashbacks from highlight moments of the season, and performances from singers including former contestants Andy Grammer and Jana Kramer. Also, each performed a freestyle routine.
During the 24 hour fusion round that finalized the results, James and Sharna were assigned a Viennese Waltz and Foxtrot. Even during the finale, everyone got a flawless score from the judges! But it was her hard work, lively personality, and improvement throughout the 11 weeks of competition that made her the top contender for the win. We can recall that they received their first flawless score during the Cirque du Soleil Night in Week 4 on consistently persisted as strong contenders.
Calvin and Lindsay wowed the judges and the audience with their fun jive/quickstep. Julianne thought it was the flawless fusion dance with so much content.
Referring to her busy year, which also saw her win a gold and silver medal at the Summer Olympics in Rio, she added: “There was a lot that went on, but I’m so grateful”. The duo also got four flawless 10s from the judges. On Tuesday, they were officially crowned the winners of Season 23.
Laurie Hernandez has had a pretty big year. I’m proud of the young woman that she turned out to be. And who can forget when Julianne Hough called James the best male dancer in the history of the show. Congrats again to Laurie and Val! Val lifted Laurie as they celebrated their win, while others rushed to the stage to congratulate them.
