LCD Soundsystem aren’t set to reform
LCD Soundsystem’s dedicated staff members haven’t begun to measure in, but during, Murphy remains (exactly) assisting the hipster neighborhood using his completely new Williamsburg violet club. Now, effect of Sound is reporting that the James Murphy-led band are slated to make a return in 2016.
Outcome of Sound stated “several sources” have confirmed the band are to reform in 2016, headlining “at least three” festivals both in the United States and the UK.
“Our sources stress the band intends to reunite next year, and we stand behind our original report.”
“Hey idiots, LCD Soundsystem isn’t reuniting”, DFA Records label manager Kris Petersen wrote. LCD Soundsystem disbanded in 2011, after an April 2nd farewell concert at Madison Square Garden and the production of a documentary called Shut Up and Play the Hits. “I’m sure a few festivals have offered the group a giant tempting pile of money, but there is no truth to this”. DFA cofounder Jonathan Galkin also denied the rumors to Pitchfork. Can we all just move on with our f-ing lives?
The band isn’t a typical rock group, relying a lot more on electronica-based influences, and guitars are rarely prominent in their songs.
