Secretary Clinton defended the State Department’s handling of security at the Benghazi facility by pointing out that there are plenty of diplomatic posts in war zones and that danger in these circumstances is to be expected. And what also became so evident was that if she were a man, this never would have happened. Why would Americans continue to tolerate a government hopelessly bifurcated by political grandstanding? The Americans who believe that she and her husband are evil incarnate weren’t likely to be satisfied with anything less than seeing her burned at the stake.

On the Democrat side, her poll numbers increased and her campaign raised more money in a single day since the campaign started.

Republicans began by focusing on Clinton’s role in formulating the Obama administration’s Libya policy, which led to the overthrow of dictator Moammar Gadhafi. They reaffirmed her message that she and her husband are the victims and targets of a vast rightwing conspiracy. “Her numbers are dropping”.
