‘Leave me alone’: Christie Brinkley’s daughter defends herself against Internet bullies
The 18-year-old, who has appeared in Seventeen and Town & Country and is signed to IMG Models, shared screenshots of the negative comments she’s received and a lengthy post to her account. This is going to be super long and super rant-y. She says she normally never takes the comments seriously, let alone reads them. And when i do i usually never take the comments to heart. But i am so fed up.
“Everyone needs to stop putting me and my siblings and me and my mother in competition”, Cook wrote. “Believe it or not I am my own person with my own beliefs and own thoughts and my own face!” Comparison to others is toxic and unhealthy.
After Sailor responded with a lenghty post of her own – “I’m just a person figuring out what i want to do and what makes me happy”.
She adds: “Let’s all choose to use this machine to make the world a kinder more attractive place”.
Among the messages: “She’s a pretty girl but nowhere what her mother was” and that Brinkley Cook’s 30-year-old half-sister, singer Alexa Ray Joel, “is actually prettier than Sailor”. “Doesn’t feel great”, she continued.
We’re so happy to see the 18-year-old stand up for herself though.
“I really believe attitude plays a huge part in how you feel”, said Christie, who revealed her beauty and fitness secrets in her book, Timeless Beauty. Eyes smile teeth forehead!
Brinkley Cook, whose father is Brinkley’s fourth ex-husband, architect Peter Cook, added, “stop. comparing.me. to.my. mother”. However, Brinkley has always given her solid advice for dealing with haters.
The 18-year-old saw some unsettling comments under a news article on August 17, which had the haters talking about her looks and comparing her to her mom and older sister, Alexa Ray Joel. And being told I could never amount to what she was and what she looks like? “Sorry but she looks nothing like her mother”, wrote one. “She’s average at best”. The elder Brinkley first addressed the public, compelling readers of her response to recognize that a smart phone, tablet, or laptop is a powerful tool and should be used responsibly. It can make them feel good, or scar them for life.
“Let’s all choose to use this machine to make the world a kinder more attractive place”, wrote Christie. “I think we’re one post closer to a kinder world”.
