The San Antonio Spurs preserved their 100 per cent record on home court after seeing off the Cleveland Cavaliers 99-95 in the National Basketball Association on Thursday.

James (19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists) and Irving (23 points) were efficient while Kevin Love chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds, but Cleveland closed the trip 5-1 by digging in defensively, especially against Rockets guard James Harden.

This will go down as just two of Paul Millsap’s 23 points for the night, but they were two that won’t be forgotten soon. The Spurs have been great all year long, but some fans have criticized them for not beating top competition.

That’s lockdown defense, and Popovich praised both Parker and Leonard for their hands in it.
