LeBron dazzles as Cavs down 76ers
LeBron James was struck in the face by a pass from a Cleveland Cavaliers teammate while warming up Sunday before a game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
After setting a franchise record by scoring 120 points in three straight games, the Cavs went cold against the Sixers. He saved his best for last, too, hitting the Cavaliers with two pretty buckets in the final two minutes of the half – first spinning through traffic for a banked-in layup and then catching a pass in traffic for a contested shot at the rim.
When allowing 100 or more points in a game, the 76ers are just 2-24 this season. 400 from the three-point line, 7.8 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.8 blocks in 35.0 minutes per game. After averaging 12 points in a 25-game stint with the Sixers last season, Smith is up to 16 points in eight games this time around after posting a career-high 28 on Saturday.
The Cleveland Cavaliers (25-9) came, they saw and they conquered- very easily I might add. They took down the young and developing Minnesota Timberwolves (12-25) by a score of 125-99.
Dwight Howard finished with 21 points and 17 rebounds, and James Harden had 21 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.
“They are championship material”, Philadelphia coach Brett Brown said of the Cavaliers. “We have confidence and obviously, he has the confidence to make the plays because he’s done it so many times, but sometimes, you’re better off not having to be in that situation”. He missed it, Philadelphia’s Nik Stauskas grabbed the rebound and pushed it ahead to Sixers center Jahlil Okafor, who beat Mozgov down the floor and scored a runner before time expired.
“Her and Zhuri, my baby girl, are my two favorite women in the world”, James said. But with the way the Cavaliers are moving the ball this year and with the attention Irving demands, it’s not insane to think Smith will continue to thrive playing alongside the superstar point guard. James even did a celebratory routine with J.R. Smith on their way to the bench for a time-out. “They love their sports”.
The Cavs have won seven straight and play the next three games in the state of Texas, beginning Tuesday in Dallas.
Back on November 2nd, LeBron James made history in his first appearance of the season at The Center.
Not only did Leah get to hang with the King after the game concluded, she dabbed on them folk to the tune of Drake and Future’s “Jumpman” during the game.
“It is nice. A lot of different guys can carry the load on this team”, forward Kevin Love said.
