LeBron James isn’t the only one involved in eight consecutive NBA Finals
Behind another extraordinary third quarter from Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors erased a 15-point deficit and claimed Game 7 of the Western Conference finals with a 101-92 victory over the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center in Houston. In Game 1, they’re giving 12 points, tied for the biggest spread in a NBA Finals game since 1991, per ESPN Stats & Information.
“We approach the series looking to win”, Lue said on a conference call with reporters on Tuesday, just prior to the Cavs’ departure to Oakland. We’ve done some good things. “We’re where we set out to be and where we knew we could be at this point”.
Cleveland was able to escape Boston even without Kevin Love, who is recovering from concussion symptoms and should return for the finals.
The Rockets were a combined 7-for-44 on their three-point attempts in the game. In 2017, Golden State reclaimed the title. “They’ve been to Game 7s”. “We had an opportunity tonight and last game without Chris”. What they do have in common is that both players have a penchant for rocking sneakers on-court that other sneakerheads refuse to take out of the box due to their rarity and value. That’s why Cleveland is still in these playoffs. Klay Thompson opened the game hot – and was 4-of-5 from the field – but his effectiveness was dulled to some extent because he’d uncharacteristically landed three fouls in the first four minutes of action, forcing Steve Kerr to yank him early.
They’re in the finals again anyway, led by someone who will play in the last series of the season for an absurd eighth consecutive year.
But James once again had his way with the Raptors as the Wine and Gold eliminated them for the third year running and completed a second consecutive sweep.
Cleveland was only 50-32 this season.
One of the streakiest shooters in the league, Smith has had prolonged slumps. It’s a trust that can’t be measured.
“I hate when people say that”, Curry said, per USA Today. What LeBron did in this playoffs is absolutely ridiculous and must be appreciated, but the Warriors are a juggernaut and will not be stopped by Jeff Green and Kyle Korver. They rise to the occasion. But it’s just cool that every opportunity you step on the floor in the playoffs, the farther you go, somebody is going to challenge you.
Hard it is. In 2015, after 69 seasons, the Warriors won their first National Basketball Association championship beating Cleveland. But that’s ultimately what loosens the game up and what gets us going is Steph’s offense, and Steph’s high screens, and 3-point shots off those screens.
