LeBron James Walks Out On Team
Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James subbed out in the third quarter of Saturday’s 109-97 victory over the Atlanta Hawks without a buzzer, leading to a technical foul. The Magic went 9 for 31 (29.0 percent) from three-point range and had a season-low eight free-throw attempts in Saturday’s 97-91 home loss to the Sacramento Kings.
Schuhmann: When Kidd was coaching in Brooklyn, I covered a Knicks-Nets game where the Nets didn’t run pick-and-roll for most of the first half against an opponent that was just awful at defending pick-and-rolls (and coincidentally employed Andrea Bargnani and Amar’e Stoudemire). They’ve had seven different starting lineups to start the season.
“We were in a position to get our first win and we just couldn’t get into anything at the end of the game”, Brown said. I know Andy well. Of course he’s going to be out there. “Above and beyond all of the overwhelming accolades and greatness he’s displayed throughout his career, it’s pretty easy to team up with a guy like that and it’s also refreshing to come every day and know that you’re about the same things with your best guy”. He is going to give you everything he has, if he’s right, not right. And if there’s a way for him to play he will play. “We got to play tougher and meaner, and that’s on the bigs, first and foremost”. James said after the game.
Nene scored 18 points and Porter added 17 for Washington, which got 51 points from bench players compared to just 15 by Detroit’s reserves. “Things aren’t being reported the right way”, Smith said Saturday.
“Did he tell you my comeback?” “Teams think they can beat up on us, and that’s not acceptable”, Thompson said.
“It’s a mentality. We’re coming ready to play”.
And apparently he doesn’t want the team to let up, not even if they are holding a huge lead.
The film session yielded positive results, as the Cavaliers snapped their two-game skid with a 115-100 win against the Bucks on Thursday night at Quicken Loans Arena. “I apologized to my teammates for it”, per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “That’s what it’s about”.
Schuhmann: It was kind of fun to see the Bucks’ elicit a few Spurs-esque ball movement (Example 1, Example 2) from Cleveland last night.
Cavaliers: Tristan Thompson played in his 300th consecutive game, the second-longest streak in the league….
In his eighth National Basketball Association season, the 27-year-old Akron native and son of former National Basketball Association player Del Curry is at the peak of his powers.
“I didn’t get a lot, really”, Budenholzer said when asked if he was given an explanation for being tossed. It doesn’t matter if I play five minutes or whatever.
His answer was fitting.
James, who finished 8-for-15 from the field and 2-for-2 at the line, admitted he was angry.
