LeBron says criticism he undermines coaches is unfair

Now that Tyronn Lue is head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, he wants his team to run more.

Fast forward to Wednesday morning as the Cavaliers held shootaround in advance of their contest against the Phoenix Suns, and James has swung back, claiming that not only did he not have David Blatt fired, but that the narrative of him being a “coach killer” were incredibly unfair and, at their root, inaccurate.

Lue, a former assistant who replaced David Blatt as Cavs head coach on Friday, has coached the team to a 2-1 record in his first three games. Which, to be fair, is a 67 percent winning percentage, which is impressive, but it’s still kind of odd.

“I think it does suck that people want to throw my name in the dirt”, James said.

“The NBA has been trying to work around some different things for the All-Star Game and he’s done a great job here”, Lue said.

Last weekend, upon his annoinment as head coach, Lue suggested Blatt should still take the reigns of the East.

“But what can I do about it?” he said following shootaround on Wednesday as the Cavs prepared to play the Phoenix Suns. Kyrie Irving is unstoppable in the open court, LeBron James is a freight train, and Kevin Love is the best outlet passer in the game.

Cleveland stretched the lead to 28 and were never threatened.

On an Israeli radio station, Heat minority owner Raanan Katz said James made it clear during his tenure in Miami that “he wanted to dump head coach Erik Spoelstra”. I don’t think he was involved in any of the conversations that goes on with the personnel of the team or the coaching staff or anything. And at the end of the day, they’ll still have their final call. “I don’t even know if a lot of guys that actually played ever met him”. What do you guys want me to do, turn my brain off because I have a huge basketball IQ?

“There’s no difference for me telling my teammates or telling guys how to get better with their game. I got a fan base here and a fan base all over the world that loves what I do and they respect what I do and I can’t worry about a select group of people that want to use their negative energy to take away my positive energy”.
