Ledecka takes Alpine skiing women’s super-G in PyeongChang
“It’s ok Julie”, Vonn tweeted.

Tina Weirather of Liechtenstein won the bronze medal. Additionally, she stated she would refuse an invitation to the White House even if she won at Pyeongchang. Austria’s Anna Vieth, the Sochi 2014 super-G victor, running 19th and back from knee injury, thought she had defended her title. She’d posted a pair of 19th-place finishes last season. She couldn’t believe it.
“How did that happen?”
“How did that happen?” she asked a cameraman at the bottom of her run. She married Austrian snowboarder Manuel Veith in April 2016. “That they’re going to switch the time for some others”. “Now it’s weird. OK”.
Vonn, one of the most successful skiers of all time, said she plans to avoid speaking out again for the time being after she was subjected to abuse on Twitter for her opinions. “It’s down the hill”.
Hanyu was back on the ice competitively for the first time since injuring his right ankle in November previous year.
At 33, she is trying to become the oldest woman to win an Olympic Alpine medal. Canada opened these Games with a comfortable 5-1 win over the Swiss that confirmed its status as one of the favorites in the tournament.
Lindsey tied for sixth, with Federica Brignone of Italy. Just made one mistake.
Sixth ended up 38-hundredths from first.
“I gave it everything I had”, Vonn said. I Have no regrets. “I am proud and I can take it home and share it with the people”, he said.
The men’s singles Figure Skating competition concluded at Gangneung Ice Arena on Saturday, with Japan’s Yuzuru Hanyu and Shoma Uno taking out the top spots, winning gold and silver respectively.
Vonn will compete in the downhill during Tuesday’s coverage of the Winter Games.
“In Sochi [where she won in 2014], it was a bit different”. “She stayed in her heart and she stayed in her own head and she skied like she can ski and it was attractive to watch”. To this day, the thumb does not straighten properly.
Vonn has taken additional motivation from the death of her beloved grandfather, Don Kildow, in November. Not only did Vonn win gold and bronze medals in Vancouver, but she’d learned how to juggle the pressures, the logistics and the intangibles inherent to her sport. She almost crashed at the end and had to fight to regain her balance. Then she damaged the same knee in training in Colorado.
“There were plenty of racers who had no chance because of the wind”, she said. “You’re all great”, she said to a packed room of reporters. The 28-year-old was scheduled to compete at the Sochi Games four years ago, but a crash during training forced her to sit out. She drew bib No. 1.
“I think later on, if I still have a voice, I will express more of my opinion, but now is not the time”.
USA Olympians Lindsey Vonn and Nathan Chen failed to medal Saturday morning in Pyeongchang.
The Olympic athlete went on to say there will be other opportunities in the future and looks forward to them.
All the same, she was back, skiing on Olympic snow: “It was wonderful”. I love you Grandpa.
“Just made one mistake, and that cost me a medal”. I’m able to ski 100 percent. They both proudly represent the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. And her best event, the downhill, awaits Wednesday.
Ledecka, on skis aged two and snowboard at five, added: “For today I took confidence from snowboarding”.
