Legal case involving Ole Miss’ Tunsil, stepfather dismissed
The authorized case involving left deal with and his stepfather was dismissed Monday, in accordance with a report. Each pressed expenses towards one another and reportedly went to courtroom earlier this week.
According to the Jackson Clarion Ledger, the All-American offensive lineman at Ole Miss and his stepfather, Lindsey Miller, dropped the charges they were pressing against each other.
On June 25, Tunsil alleged he witnessed Miller shove his mother and physically intervened to protect her, the version of events he gave to his head football coach, Hugh Freeze.
Last week, Tunsil’s attorney, Steven Farese, and Matthew Wilson, who is representing Miller, agreed to have their clients sign dismissal forms that are expected to by signed by Lafayette County Judge Johnny McLarty on Monday.
Tunsil and Miller have been arrested after an altercation that occurred June 25. Miller claimed that Tunsil acted as the aggressor after he confronted him about having contact with agents, telling police that Tunsil was “riding around with football agents” after the incident. The investigation started in July, and Miller met with Chris Howard, the NCAA’s director of enforcement. Ole Miss issued a statement shortly thereafter pledging cooperation with the investigation, and Freeze addressed it at SEC media days weeks later.
“I’m very confident in the way we do things”, Freeze said. “I do not know something”. “I’m very confident in the person Laremy is, too”.
In addressing the situation regarding his star lineman, Freeze acknowledged Tunsil was only participating in legal contact with said agents. ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. projected the junior as the second overall selection in his first “big board” for 2016.
