LEGO Dimensions Adds Doctor Who
There’s a new trailer, below, that shows Doctor Who gameplay.
Although it was previously leaked – by Lego itself no less – it has now been confirmed that Doctor Who will be joining the cast of the game/toy collection Lego Dimensions.
The game uses an interactive Lego pad which is plugged into games consoles and players can put up to a maximum of seven toys into the game by placing them on the pad. “So go forth and help the Doctor make new friends on his quest to vanquish Lord Vortech!”
If you’ve been broken down as the 12th Doctor, you will return as the 1st Doctor and then regenerate back up to the 12th again.
The first trailer, focusing on the Doctor Who elements of LEGO Dimensions, shows how iconic elements of the franchise will interact with other well-known universes that will be featured in the game, like Gotham City, Homer Simpson, Aperture Science, Scooby and Shaggy and some Ninjago characters.
Peter, who is the 12th Doctor, said he felt proud and privileged that the game had launched during his incarnation as the Doctor.
The cost of getting in on the Doctor Who action is considerable, though. The “Doctor Who Fun Pack” comes with a Cyberman minifigure and parts for a Dalek. Players will be able to play all 12 Doctors in the game.
Late Wednesday, just as the crowds were starting to build at San Diego Comic-Con, Warner Bros. The TARDIS itself will change depending on which Doctor you’re controlling, and there’s even a jukebox on board where you can choose your favourite version of the Doctor Who theme. “The TARDIS and K-9 models can each be physically built and then rebuilt twice to do entirely different things in the digital game for massive variety”.
LEGO Dimensions is coming 27 September, which is conveniently after payday.
